Our State - Getting to Western Australia

Perth's geographical location makes it an ideal venue for the 2011 ISAF Sailing World Championships. Close to Asian ports, Perth is the western gateway to Australia for both European and Asian visitors.

Perth's international and domestic airports are located 20 and 15 minutes from the CBD and about 30 minutes from the port city of Fremantle. The regular daily flights into and out of Perth International Airport include Qantas, British Airlines, Singapore Airlines, Cathay Pacific, Malaysian Airlines, Thai Airways, South African Airlines and Emirates.

Singapore Airlines has introduced two sectors servicing Los Angeles and New York direct, so with only a four and a half-hour flight from Singapore to Perth, access into Western Australia is now more favourable for visitors from the United States.

European travellers have the choice of stopping off in either Singapore or Dubai, while Oceania nations and the Americas can hub at Sydney and fly direct to Perth. The flight for those travelling from Asia to Perth is short and the fact that we're on the same time zone removes the potential for jet lag.
